    Stakeholders Consultation for the development of 1 st Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (R3E) Cluster in Pakistan

    The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) held a consultative workshop for the development of 1st Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (R3E) Cluster in Pakistan under the framework of GEF funded project : Sustainable Energy Initiative for Industries in Pakistan.The cluster will serve as one window platform for promoting energy partnerships through articulation of the stakeholders and national actors in order to enhance cooperation, knowledge sharing and promote the uptake of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency technologies and measures in energy intensive sectors of Pakistan.

    Sectoral report on Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy opportunities in selected industrial sectors of Pakistan available

    Under the auspices of “Sustainable Energy Initiative for Industries in Pakistan”, a detailed Sectoral Study Report on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy opportunities in Five Industrial Sectors such as Paper & Pulp, Steel, Dairy, textile and Ceramic is launched. This sectoral study was conducted to serve as a guiding principle for energy consultants as well as industrialists, in achieving energy efficiency and opportunities of renewable energy in their industries.

    UNIDO launches Program on Energy Management Systems for Industries

    A launch workshop was arranged by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)to mark the beginning of its program on implementation of Energy Management System (EnMS) in Industries.This program, is a part of UNIDO’s flag ship project on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy called Sustainable Energy Initiative for Industries in Pakistan. Under this program UNIDO trained Energy Consulting firms, will carry out EnMS implementations including Energy Audit in 50 industrial unitsacross 10 industrial clusters, enabling in achievement of ISO 50001 based Energy Management Systems. The EnMS program is covering major industrial regions of Pakistan like Karachi, Nooriabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Hub (Baluchistan), Hattar (KPK) and others.

    Consultative Workshop on “Promoting Energy Efficiency and Conservation for Sustainable and Greener Pakistan” Jointly organized by UNIDO with PM Task Force on Energy Reforms

    A consultative session on Energy Efficiency arranged by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) jointly with Prime Minister’s task force on energy reforms was held in Islamabad on 15th April 2019. Officer In-charge of UNIDO, Mr. Badar ul Islam welcomed all the distinguished guests from government, academia, industry, development sector and described that the main aim of this workshop is to come up with solutions and policy recommendations that could be incorporated in the National Integrated Energy Plan being developed by the PM Task Force on Energy to achieve a long-term energy security in the country which is of vital importance for sustainable economic growth.

    UNIDO articulates on Energy Management System, ISO 50001 by holding Nation-wide stakeholders Workshops

    With the aim of assessing and aligning competencies of energy professionals and public actors on Energy Management System (EnMS) with special focus on ISO-50001, a number of nationwide workshop were organized in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad from 4th to 12th of Dec 2018. These workshops were conducted by international trainers/consultants and were attended by a large number of energy professionals.
